This is a very interesting quote from the minutes of the Special called Board Meeting of February 25th, 2008 where the SAISD Board voted to close 6 schools. If there was no solid plan, then why was Principle Jeannie Meza-Chavez already hired for the Young Women's Leadership Academy and applications for students being taken months prior to the announcement that Horace Mann Academy was even being conisdered for closure? It is no wonder we are asking the question: DID HORACE MANN ACADEMY FIT THE REQUIREMENTS FOR CLOSURE? OR WAS IT SELECTED FOR A PREDETERMINED PROJECT?
